I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. Which comprises of seven areas of development. All areas of learning and development are important and are inter – linked.
Three areas are classed as PRIME areas igniting children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. Building their capacity to learn, form relationships and thrive. These three areas are;
The other four areas are known as the SPECIFIC AREAS through which the PRIME AREAS are strengthened and applied. The specific areas are;
The development of children's spoken language is the basis of all 7 areas of learning and development.
With back and forth interactions from an early age form the foundations for language and cognitive development.
The number and quality of the conversations they have with adults and peers throughout the day in a language-rich environment is crucial. By commenting on what children are interested in or doing, and echoing back what they say with new vocabulary added.
I create a rich language environment where children are encouraged to engage in conversations, share stories, and express their ideas. Through a variety of activities, including storytelling, role-play, and group discussions, children enhance their vocabulary and listening skills while building confidence in their ability to communicate effectively. This focus on communication and language not only supports children's social interactions but also lays a strong foundation for their literacy skills, ensuring they are well-prepared for future learning.
Recognizing its vital role in children's overall growth. I create a nurturing environment where children learn to express their feelings, develop empathy, and build positive relationships with their peers. Through collaborative activities, discussions, and role-playing, we encourage children to understand themselves and others, fostering resilience and self-regulation. This focus on personal, social, and emotional skills not only enhances children's well-being but also lays the groundwork for effective communication and teamwork, essential skills for their future success.

I provide a variety of engaging activities that promote both fine and gross motor skills, such as climbing, balancing, and creative play with tools and materials. By encouraging movement and coordination through play, we help children build strength, agility, and confidence in their physical abilities. This focus on physical development not only supports their health and well-being but also enhances their ability to participate fully in all areas of learning, laying a strong foundation for a healthy lifestyle.
Our curriculum in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is designed to foster a love for literacy through engaging and interactive activities. By integrating storytelling, phonics, and creative writing into daily learning experiences, we create a rich environment where children can explore language and develop their communication skills. Our approach encourages curiosity and imagination, allowing young learners to express themselves confidently while building a strong foundation for future literacy success. Through play and exploration, we aim to inspire a lifelong passion for reading and writing in every child.
I create a vibrant and interactive learning environment where children explore mathematical concepts through play, hands-on activities, and real-life experiences. By integrating counting, shape recognition, and problem-solving into daily routines, I help children develop essential numeracy skills while fostering their curiosity and critical thinking. This engaging approach not only builds confidence in mathematical understanding but also encourages children to see the relevance of math in their everyday lives, setting the stage for future learning and success.
Through hands-on exploration and inquiry-based learning, I encourage young learners to observe, ask questions, and discover the diverse environments, cultures, and phenomena that shape their lives. Activities such as nature walks, experiments, and community projects help children develop a deeper understanding of their surroundings while fostering respect for different perspectives and experiences. By integrating understanding the world into our daily practices, we empower children to make connections and develop critical thinking skills that will serve them throughout their educational journey.
Allowing children to explore their creativity through various mediums. I encourage young learners to express themselves through art, music, dance, and drama, providing them with opportunities to experiment and innovate. By integrating these creative experiences into our daily activities, we foster imagination and self-expression while also promoting fine motor skills and cognitive development. This approach not only enriches children's learning but also helps them build confidence and a sense of identity, as they learn to communicate their thoughts and feelings through the arts.
